Ronnie Wynd has been the minister of the church since 2003.
Ronnie was born in the north west of England and in his early years lived in various places the length and breadth of England. His family finally settled in the north east of England where Ronnie spent nineteen years of his early life.
After leaving school he worked in heavy engineering on the banks of the Tyne. At the age of twenty he married Miriam and they now have three grown up children. It was in 1988 that Ronnie went to college in Berwick-upon-Tweed to study theology. After three years of study he worked for a Baptist church in Doncaster. Ronnie did three years further training to become a Baptist minister while leading a small Baptist church in Southport.
Ronnie was the minister of Swanwick Baptist Church for fifteen years after leaving Southport. In 2003 Ronnie moved to Durham to be the pastor of Durham City Baptist Church.
Ronnie’s passion is to see people come to faith and grow in Christian maturity. He wants the church to be an agent for change in the world.
Ronnie’s other interests are cooking, reading and listening to music, he loves good food and good conversation.
